The Plan #3
I thought it best I put in a separate post for what I THINK I’m going to be doing after my European trip. Hopefully within the first few weeks (including the week we arrive) we’ll have sorted out a place to stay and a place to work. I think we could stay with Donal’s Aunty again for a short period but I think I’d probably prefer my own place, for my sake and for his Auntie’s.
I’m hoping to get a simple job to begin with, something that involves bartending work or any job that will be quick and easy to grab and maybe even potentially have included food and living arrangements. All part of the fun right?!
So from roughly around the 22nd-23rd of April until the beginning of July, I’ll have the ability to earn some pounds so I can go travelling again with my mates. I’ve booked a tour again with top deck from the 4th of July to the 9th of July where I’ll be just running my arse off trying to get away from a bunch of angry bulls charging down narrows streets [link], not a big deal. I’m only just terrified of the thought just four months out!! Here we hop on a coach in London and travel down to Spain; we have a day stop in San Sebastian where we have a tour guide to show us around the town before we head off to Pamplona for a day tour before the opening ceremony (“The Fiesta San Fermin”) begins.
Apparently, the partying is some of the best in the world. I cannot wait. I’ve heard stories that it’s basically like a giant street party with sangria, wine, egg and flour flying all over the place. You don’t shower and you party like crazy. Other than spending five days doing this, and running with the bulls I’m guessing there won’t be a whole lot more to tell. We have regular mini bus transfers back to the campsite (where we’ll be camping in two man tents); we’re also provided with breakfast and dinner every day. I’ll just have to make sure I get some sleep at least one of the nights.
I was contemplating going to Ibiza with my mates after Pamplona but with money and missing my bus back to London, I’m seriously beginning to wonder whether it’s a smart move. But Ibiza! Such a hard choice. I suppose I have a long time to visit and I don’t really have to go right then and there.
I’m really looking forward to the rest of July, I’ll be meeting up with plenty of friends during the remainder of the month where I’m sure more heaving drinking and extreme activities will be taking place. Hopefully by then I’ll know London a bit better and can show the people around who visit us. I know there are certain people I’m going to take hostage while they’re over there, so prepare to be tied and gagged.
I really don’t know how I am going to be going for cash at this point in time, but I’m going to need something in the kitty because at the end of August (I think roughly around the 18 or 19th) I need to grab a flight to Las Vegas for my eldest brothers bucks party! Pretty sure this is going to be more epic than Amsterdam and running with the bulls combined! How much more can my liver take? But it simply has no choice.
I then fly to Los Angeles (the OC) where my brother’s wedding will be held. This will be on the 28th of August in a beautiful big back garden with lots of people and great scenery. I’m very excited about this because I’ve never been to real wedding and wedding reception before. What a way to spend my first one, in America, in the OC!
I’ll continue to punish the liver when I get back to London when another Irish mate is going to be staying with us for a while. Justin, Donal and I will be going down to Munich, Germany for the annual Oktoberfest! I’m really going to need to get my stomach into order here if I’m with two huge Irishmen.
Bring on the steins! But first (and after), bring on the gym!
The best part about this time of the year is the unknown. Sure, I know I’ll be needing to get a job, a place to stay and I know a couple of the tours I’ll be doing, but it’s the day to day activities and living that is going to be the most exciting. I’m going to be stepping heavily out of this comfort zone and really can’t wait for it all to begin. If I live to tell the tales, I’ll be sure to post these adventures in more detail when they come around!
